PROGRAMMES
Since 2017 we have organised, hosted, and participated in a number of creative residencies. These space-based residencies carry the purpose of bringing together Bornean creatives in a creatively conducive environment, which prioritises knowledge-sharing, collaboration and showcasing.
Residencies
In 2017 we started off with residencies—a programme format that fits our vision for Borneo Bengkel itself: gathering creative minds from around Borneo for the purpose of sharing cultural stories, progressive ideas, and visions for collaboration.
Talks
With such a rich history, our talks in and of Borneo touched on tradition and mythologies, discussed in public with modern interpretations in mind.
Workshops
Always at the heart of our programmes, workshops are an integral component of Borneo Bengkel's vision for knowledge and skill-sharing.
Roadshows
Throughout 2018 and 2019 our Sarawak-based team travelled throughout the regions of Borneo and to Kuala Lumpur, leveraging on local festivals and platforms to share about our work and build our network of collaborators.
Festivals
We relish in the opportunity to showcase our collaborators through appearances at festivals like the Rainforest World Music Festival.
