Berkumpul Borneo is an informal collective that unites grassroots art movements, creative spaces, and cultural workers from across the island of Borneo. “Berkumpul” meaning gathering in the Malay language, was founded in 2025 by Borneo Bengkel and Pangrok Sulap and brings together members from Sarawak and Sabah in East Malaysia, Kalimantan Indonesia and Brunei. Members include creative spaces and curators HAUS KCH (Sarawak),  Ruang Tamu Ekosistem (Sabah), Kitani Kreatif (Brunei), Minority Agenda (Brunei), Emehdeyeh (Kalimantan)  and Susur Galur (Kalimantan). All of the represented organisations are creating necessary spaces and platforms for the emerging art scenes on Borneo island, and pushing boundaries within the arts ecosystem to create exciting, contemporary works and/or discuss marginalised identities, loss of traditional knowledge and impacts of climate change and resource extraction across the island.
